EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Lunsemfwa Hydro Power Company Limited (LHPC) is an independent hydro-electric power producer based in Kabwe in the Central Province of Zambia. LHPC owns two Hydropower Stations namely, Mulungushi Power Station and Lunsemfwa Power Station with installed capacity of 32 MW and 24 MW respectively. The two Power Stations have both an upstream reservoir and four generating units each. The older units have undergone refurbishment in recent years. LHPC has Power Purchase Agreements with ZESCO and Copperbelt Energy Corporation. LHPC is also a member of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP). Therefore, the Company invites applications from highly motivated, result-oriented, suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancies:

DRIVER X 1

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for transportation of personnel and materials between LHPC work sites other external destinations as maybe assigned. The role is also responsible for ensuring that the vehicles within their immediate control are in good working order.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transport materials, personnel within LHPC designated stations and other assigned towns.
2. Doing dam routines and adjustments of equipment contained in the waterways as may be instructed by the Station Manager/supervisor.
3. Handle and drive the assigned vehicle properly with respect to the regulations of the transport authority and internal vehicle management policy of the LHPC.
4. Keep proper attire per the dress code, deliver materials, letters, documents, and messages to their respected address.
5. Check oils, water, tires, breaks, lights, mirrors, and other external parts of the vehicle before driving.
6. Provide transport services to staff and other material in field trips, night shifts and on off-hours.
7. Keep logbooks and record each trip and report on mileage and fuel consumption.
8. Conduct any assignments as assigned by the Station Manager.
9. Handle, keep tools and reserve tires of the vehicle safely.
10. Wash and clean assigned vehicle and replace tires.
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • Class CE Driver’s License, and PSV is a plus.
  • Craft Certificate in Mechanics will be an added advantage
  • Grade 12 School Certificate

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
