Job Description
A highly reputable institution seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill the following vacant positions of Boarding Matron and Patron.
Purpose of the Job
The Matron and Patron is responsible for all aspects of the functioning of the Boarding Section, of which they are in charge and is expected to run following agreed school practice and Reporting Accountability
Key Responsibilities
- To oversee the personal and academic development of all the pupils in their care.
- To ensure the School Minimum Standards for Boarding are adhered to.
- To see that good discipline is maintained.
- To make all necessary domestic arrangements for the comfort, health and welfare of the pupils in the school dormitories.
- To ensure that all furniture, equipment and fittings in the Boarding Section, remain in good repair and condition (fair wear and tear excepted),
- To monitor pastoral care and report findings to the Head Teacher.
- Ensure policies on Learners Safety are adhered to including child protection, anti bullying, rewards and sanctions are adhered to.
Key Competencies and Qualification
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5′ O’ Levels and a minimum of a Diploma or certificate in Nursing Assistant, Care giving or any related field.
- Minimum of three (2) years of parental or care giving experience in a special needs learning environment.
- Should be able to work under pressure and work beyond regular working hours, including weekends.
