 Accurately dispensing medicines on prescription.  Handling minor community ailments such as coughs, colds, certain skin conditions, and some cases of diarrhea, and appropriately referring cases to the chief pharmacist or the next level of care.  Educating patients/clients on the proper use of medications to prevent adverse events such as injuries and antimicrobial resistance.  Providing client counseling and education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, along with recommendations for pharmaceutical health foods, supplements, and nutraceuticals

 Dispensing prescribed medication accurately.  Dispensing ward stock, conducting ward inspections to promote rational use, tracking expiries, and ensuring proper storage of the medications.  Handling the billing process for medicines dispensed under insurance schemes, ensuring compliance with respective terms and conditions.  Management of dispensary inventory i.e. restocking, tracking expiry, looking for product quality issues and ensuring proper storage conditions on room temperature products and cold chain products.  Receiving, addressing and resolving client complaints related to pharmaceuticals, with referrals to the chief pharmacist when necessary.  Providing drug related information and making appropriate recommendations to medical doctors (prescribers).  Dispensing Antiretroviral Drugs (ARVs) and maintaining proper documentation as required by CHAZ.  Interacting with patients for the purpose of education on proper use of medicines, counselling, advising and making appropriate recommendations.  Ensuring prescribers adhere to the national or local (hospital) formulary and treatment guidelines to ensure rational prescribing.
