Leading a department of 4 staff and a portfolio of 600+ of local and foreign vendors. Maintain the GR/IR account monthly. Perform age analysis ensuring no items on GRIR accounts for longer than 60 days. Compilation of general ledger accounts for the tax pack. Monthly GL Recon packs as per year end requirements with timeous follow up and clearance (no items outstanding for longer than 60 days). Train incoming employees on tasks and responsibilities. Create SOPs, comply and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency and reinforce financial data confidentiality. Design systems and trackers and prepare reports for Management and group office. Analysis Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts against the monthly budget and Working Capital targets as well as facilitate the release of accruals daily. Ensure outstanding items on AP reconciliations not to exceed 30 days as well as keeping the current liability file current and 100% accurate. Prepare tax computations and return submissions including ensuring that all taxes are submitted in time.
Collect monthly subscriptions and induct incoming staff. Prepare timely financial statements, budgets and reports including the reconciliation of bank accounts. Coordinate fundraising programs, disbursement of donor funds and carry out financial administrative tasks. Formulate the Finance Policy as well as reinforce finance data confidentiality and conduct database backups.
Reconciled 5 local and foreign bank accounts daily to solve discrepancies, variances and journal postings. Initiated online account reconciliation preparation and review to the team reducing the lead time from 2 weeks to 5 days. Handled 200+ clients and vendors.
