Reports to: Head of Academics
Responsibilities and expectations include:
- Co-Observation: Visit school sites on a weekly basis and do co-observations of lessons with the Education Programs Officer and the Teacher Supervisors.
Review weekly lesson observation reports and monthly education reports to provide feedback and advice to the field team on how to help teachers improve their teaching practice. - Implementation: Take a leading role in field work across school sites to ensure that education targets are met and the eSchool 360 model and the Read Smart program are effectively implemented.
Support the implementation and monitoring of the student alumni program. - Evaluation and Improvement: Assess the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics. Make recommendations for improvements.
Monitor academics field data and reports and make data-driven suggestions for efficiency and effectiveness. - Training and Support: Identify training needs and support training content development and delivery. Support field managers and teachers on new programs and teaching methods.
Ensure the Academics field staff are meeting or exceeding agreed targets. Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of Academics department staff. - Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, stakeholders, and other partners to support educational initiatives and address any challenges.
Ensure school and zonal head teachers are continuously engaged and invested in our programs. - Research and Trends: Stay updated with the latest trends in education and learning methodologies to ensure programs are current and effective.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of program activities and outcomes and provide narratives on a regular basis. Provide weekly reports to summarize progress, challenges encountered and suggested ways forward.
- Student Engagement: Develop strategies to enhance student engagement and participation in educational programs.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with 3+ years relevant work experience required.
- Exceptionally organized with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with rural community schools.
- Experience with supervising others.
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal in Cinyanja and English.
- Tech skills: Typing, E-mail, Word, Excel, online and offline applications.
- Punctuality, reliability and strong attention to detail.
This position is based in Katete, Eastern Province with occasional travel to Sinda, Petauke, and Lusangazi.
