Free Haven Community Initiative (FHCI) is a registered poverty-alleviation Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) located in Livingstone Zambia that has four main areas of focus: Education, Health, Nutrition, and Empowerment.

We are currently looking to fill the role of Accountant at FHCI.

Qualifications and Requirements:

You MUST have at least a diploma or a degree in Accounting.

Roles and Responsibilities:  – responsibilities include:

1. Finance Roles and Responsibilities
– Financial Statements and Reports: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements; Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements. Process all bookkeeping operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.
– Tax Management: Ensure compliance with appropriate accounting principles, tax types(returns) and regulatory requirements. Also, ensure that all statutory deductions from Employee’s wages are properly calculated and submitted i.e (NAPSA, NHIMA and PAYE).
Annual Returns: Ensure compliance with governing bodies including PACRA, Ministry of Social Works and Community Development and Workers Compensation.

2. Development Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Development Collaboration: Put in place a Monitoring and Evaluation Scheme to help the Organisation stay on track. Also assist in the planning and organising of events.

Interview Process:

Interviews for this position will be conducted on Friday 6 September. Shortlisted candidates will be notified and provided with further details regarding the interview process.

Volunteer Period:

The selected candidate will be expected to start volunteering as soon as possible for a duration of 1 – 3  months. This period will serve as an opportunity to assess mutual fit and alignment with the organization’s goals and values.

Full-time Paid Position:

The full-time paid position will commence after the aforementioned 1 – 3 month volunteering stint. This transition period allows for a seamless integration into the organization’s workforce.

Salary Range:

The net salary for this position is in the range of K5,000 to K6,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
