About the role:
Our client operates in the technology and digital solutions industry, providing services such as internet installation, Wi-Fi networking and web development. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the company’s financial health as it continues to expand its innovative service offerings. This role requires someone who can independently handle company books, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Zambian financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Prepare VAT, PAYE, NAPSA, and other statutory tax returns and ensure compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee payments.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Partially or fully qualified in ZICA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience (experience in a similar role preferred).
- Strong understanding of Zambian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, Sage, or other ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
