Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accounts Assistant to join our team at Zal Elevators Ltd, a leading elevator company in Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial support to the Finance department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
– Process and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and spreadsheets
– Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
– Prepare and process invoices, credit memos, and other financial documents
– Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies
– Follow up on debtors and ensure timely payment
– Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
– Compute landed costs and prepare goods received vouchers
– Enter stores issues and maintain accurate inventory records
– Perform other accounting-related tasks as required
Requirements:
– Diploma or degree in accounting or related field, ZICA, CIMA, ACCA
– 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role
– Should be conversant with Pastel accounting
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
