Job Title: Channels Controllers – Open Market (Countrywide)
Mission:
To manage direct sales operations in country and to ensure the achievement of budgeted business objectives.
- Develops and executes channels strategy, policies and procedures to optimize market penetration.
- Prepares annual plans and budgets in line with departmental business plan in close consultation with the Channels development Manager
- Manages device sales, active data subs acquisition, ayoba and other apps onboarding including management of relationships with device outlets;
- MTN Connected Home device sales and ensuring daily, weekly and Monthly targets are achieved;
- Manages expansion of MTN’s retail footprint in non-traditional outlets and ensure brand dominance and retail visual identity is upheld;
- Develops a reseller strategy and execution in line with business plan expectations;
- In conjunction with other stakeholders, develops and executes channels promotions in retail trade;
- Develops and executes joint promotional campaigns with convenience channel partners;
- Manages the sales team towards goals set, ensuring that the teams have the required information, resources, training and supervision to achieve such targets;
- Ensures that sales team members adequately understand any new products and services rolled out by MTNZ;
- Maintains and regularly updates database of direct sales teams in the region;
- Prepares accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports;
- Stays abreast of developments in areas of expertise and performs to the highest ethical and professional standards;
- Carries out any related duties that will advance the mission of the job.
Candidate Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better of which English and Mathematics are a must;
- Sales/Marketing/Business or equivalent professional Degree;
Four (4) years’ progressive experience in a sales environment dealing with FMCGs; - Experience in Retail/Channel Management;
- Knowledge of FMCG Trade Model and Channel development strategies;
- Good understanding of Telecommunications ;
- Priority setting skills- able to manage time, tasks, tools and outputs in order to meet pre-determined deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to work cross-functionally.
