About Us

Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia Limited (NCZ) is a leading fertilizer manufacturing company in Zambia. NCZ is wholly owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). As we continue to grow, we seek a strategic and dynamic Chief Finance Officer to drive our financial strategy and operations.

Role Summary

As the CFO, you will be a key management team member, responsible for leading all financial activities, shaping the organization’s financial future, and ensuring sustainable growth. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance while contributing to the company’s overall strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

1.     Corporate Strategic Plan Input
Ensure that financial data for formulating the company’s future strategic direction is compiled, delivered, and incorporated into the Corporate Strategic Plan.

2.     Manage Corporate Budgeting Process
Coordinate annual budgeting processes and resources required for implementing the corporate strategic plan projected and approved.

3.     Mobilize Funds
Identify funding opportunities for financial resources and secure sustainable income streams at cheaper costs.

4.     Internal Financial Controls
Protect company assets through prudent monitoring of financial operations of the company and ensure that all employees comply with the internal financial guidelines.

5.     Financial Statements
Ensure that information on the company’s financial performance results is compiled, audited, and submitted to the Board informing correct decision made.

6.     Implement Finance Policies
Develop and implement Finance policies and procedures in line with the financial strategic direction of the company.

7.     Audit Financial Statement
Ensure that annual financial statements are prepared, audited, and submitted to the Board of Directors according to statutory requirements.

8.     Control Expenditure
Control Financial performance against budget and prepare management accounts to inform correct decisions made on company performance.

9.     Statutory Compliance
Ensure that statutory payments for the period are settled and returns are delivered to appropriate statutory authorities by statutory requirements and penalties avoided.

10.  Manage Cash Flow
Ensure that cash inflows are forecasted, controlled, and aligned to cash outflows and that investments are placed to benefit the company’s yielded financial returns.

11.  Manage Employee Performance
Ensure that employee performance is appraised and regular performance feedback is given.

12.  Board Reports
Compile board resolutions informed by periodic reports on company activities and present them to the board of directors within agreed timeframes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or any other approved by the Zambia Qualification Authority (ZAQA) is a must.
  • Master’s in Business Administration or any related field will be an added advantage.
  • Certification of educational qualifications with the Zambia Qualification Authority (ZAQA) is a must.
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with a valid practicing license of a higher membership.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressively senior financial management experience.
  • Familiar with International Accounting Standards, preparation of financial statements and interpretation, and Knowledge of laws on employment, ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, ZPPA, and Companies Act.
  • Knowledgeable about preparations of financials, use of Sun System Software, and computer literacy.
