Job Description

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY- CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
Our client, a well-established telecommunication company, is currently seeking to fill the Chief Marketing Officer position. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in driving the company towards its strategic objectives. The position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all marketing functions including strategic planning, branding, marketing, revenue planning and analysis, product development, customer service, public relations and corporate communications in order to grow the business and make Company the dominant digital services provider.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in the formulation of the Corporate Strategic Plan
  • Develops short- and long-term marketing strategic and operational plans
  • Develops the directorate budget against set objectives/policies and thereafter submits the budget for consolidation into the Company’s Corporate budget.
  • Develops the annual marketing strategy
  • Develops, implements, and monitors systems and procedures necessary for the smooth operation of the marketing and branding function
  • Establishes and builds new relationships with existing and potential clients that have a prospective business that meets the Company’s operation criteria
  • Conducts Market Trend Analysis and Competitor Intelligence Analysis
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing team to maximize revenues and customer loyalty
  • Pioneers and implements measurable strategies that profitably increase revenue and grow the brand.
  • Plans and executes well-performing, well-coordinated product launches of new and existing products.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements impacting customer care function.
  • Develops procedures and policies for better handling of customer correspondence and customer complaints.
  • Ensures weekly/monthly/quarterly reports are prepared to show the progress of the Mobile Money operations for information and Management decisions.
  • Supervises team members in the directorate to ensure all its deliverables are being accomplished.
  • Executes effective workforce planning practices to ensure that staffing requirements are accurately forecasted.
  • Creates a positive work climate and culture to energize employees, give meaning to work, minimize work disruption, and maximize employee productivity.
  • Monitors and reviews the performance of team members to ensure that they meet their performance objectives.
  • Enables a learning and growth culture whereby information regarding successes, issues, trends, and ideas are actively shared between team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Certificate with credits in English and Mathematics and any other three subjects
  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline
  • MBA will be desirable
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience preferably in telecoms/FMCG industry
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing with a valid Practicing Certificate
