EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a well-established Company in the telecommunication sector is currently seeking the services of a qualified and experienced individual to oversee the overall sales and distribution portfolio. The position is Chief Sales and Distribution Officer reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all mobile sales functions including conceiving, developing, and executing the Sales and Distribution strategy for the Company that would result in achieving incremental customer market share (CMS) and revenue market share (RMS) to make the Company the dominant digital services provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in the formulation of the Corporate Strategic Plan
- Develop sales strategies, plans, and promotional programs for achieving sales targets in terms of volume and value for various product categories and across relevant trade channels
- Develops the directorate budget against set objectives/policies and thereafter submits the budget for consolidation into the Company’s Corporate budget.
- Oversees the distribution function to ensure that enough stock is on the market to grow the business
- Leads the development, review, and implementation of policies, compliance, and governance standards for sales and distribution operations
- Oversees the management of Consumer Sales Operations, driving sales, and revenues through product availability, market strategy-led pricing, channel strategies, effective trade marketing, and logistical operations
- Participates as the business partner in all areas of operations, being the key member of the management team, helping to create value by developing the appropriate environment for all consumer sales decisions
- Analyses competitor information and government policies to ensure that strategies are aligned with the market business need
- Reports accurate mobile sales results to Management on trends and changes as they affect Mobile Sales.
- Forecasts business cases and builds business-to-business partnerships with clients.
- Ensures that market validation is conducted for the basis of guiding the business to invest in a specific market.
- Coordinates trade audits to ascertain gaps in the market to guide the building of seamless sales infrastructure.
- Implements the audit and review of channel partners & distributors to ensure Healthy Return On Investment (ROI)
- Ensures weekly/monthly/quarterly reports are prepared showing the progress of Sales and Distribution operations for information and Management decisions.
- Supervises team members in the directorate to ensure all its deliverables are being accomplished.
- Provides counsel, coaches, and develops staff to achieve set objectives.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate with credits in English and Mathematics and any other three subjects
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline
- MBA will be desirable
- Minimum 8 years of working experience preferably in the telecoms/FMCG industry
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing with a valid Practicing Certificate
