About Skills to Live Zambia:
Skills to Live Zambia is a locally registered organization affiliated with Young Africa International and is dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth with skills training for employability and entrepreneurship. Our program integrates vocational training with life skills education, digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, psychosocial support services, and talent development in art and sports. By equipping young people with these essential skills, we ensure they are work-ready, self-reliant, and able to contribute meaningfully to economic growth.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Intern with a strong focus on social media and content creation. The intern will be responsible for developing visually appealing and engaging content across various digital platforms, helping to enhance Skills to Live Zambia’s online presence, visibility and communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create visually appealing graphics, videos, and other multimedia content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and manage social media content calendars, ensuring timely and relevant posts that align with Skills to Live Zambia’s objectives.
- Monitor and analyze social media engagement and traffic, suggesting strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with the team to create engaging posts and campaigns that promote our programs, events, and initiatives.
- Assist in updating the organization’s website and maintaining a consistent online presence.
- Assist with drafting and editing written communications such as newsletters, blog posts, and press releases.
- Provide support during events and workshops, capturing live content to share across platforms.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Studies, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and video editing software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and self-driven with a passion for storytelling through digital media.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen interest in social impact and the work of Skills to Live Zambia.
