Control Room Operator – Trade Zone Limited
Job Description
Trade Zone Limited is currently looking to hire an experienced Control Room Operator to be based at the factory in Lusaka
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor equipment in the gypsum plant control room to ensure optimal performance of the plant
- Read and interpret data from a variety of sources to make decisions on how to best operate the plant
- Communicate with other members of the plant team to coordinate activities and troubleshoot problems
- Make adjustments to equipment as needed to maintain proper operation of the gypsum plant
- Keep accurate records of gypsum plant performance and maintenance activities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks in the control room and throughout the power plant
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Report any problems or concerns to the plant manager or supervisor
- Assist with training new plant control room operators
- Participate in emergency drills and procedures
- Serve on-call as needed to respond to power outages or other emergencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree/Diploma or Any Related Field in industrial technology, engineering or IT
- 2 years and Above work experience working in a gypsum plant or other industrial setting
- Strong understanding of electricity, electronics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Working knowledge of computerized control systems
- Proficiency with computers and software programs used for monitoring and controlling plant systems
