1. DRILL AND BLAST ENGINEER
Position Description
This position reports to the Drilling Superintendent. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.
- Tender Preparation and pricing of project works.
- Providing technical support to the Production Team in achieving efficient production in a proactive manner.
- Scheduling Mining, Ancillary Equipment’s and Labour to achieve production and Safety Targets.
Ensuring all Mining Works are executed to design and within the scope of work. - Monitoring and recommending action plans to ensure consistent improvement in production.
- Daily costing and setting realistic production Targets for the supervision Team.
- Daily reports on Equipment Availability and Utilisation.
- Participate in Safety and environmental planned inspection, risk assessments, safety audits, critical and planned task observation.
- Coordinate the formulation of safe work procedures (SWP).
- Coordinate the pit operations and construction team on site.
- Carry out production data analysis and setting out of Mine plans.
- Ensuring Mine Haul Roads and ramps are of standard width and grade etc.
- Coordinate Open Pit Mine Development including stripping of overburden with adherence to spatial compliance.
- Ensuring effective and efficient utilization of mining equipment.
Supervision open pit quantities (End of Month Volumes.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
- Diploma/Degree in Mine Engineering from a recognized institution
- Valid Blasting Certificate
- Valid First Aid
- Drivers License.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in designing drill and blast patterns.
- Experience working in a remote mining or industrial setting is an asset.
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Excellent knowledge of drilling and blasting regulatory requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships.
- Team leader, problem solver, and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required.
- Ability to cross-train with the IT and dispatch group required.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A valid driver’s license and drivers abstract required.
2. HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT COORDINATOR
Position Description
This position reports to the Health, Safety and Environment Superintendent. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.
- Provided safety information, training, medical treatment / information, protective devices and procedures as required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Must understand Safety Officer supervision
- Participate in and facilitate required Accident Investigation as required in ICAM and Root Cause analysis.
- Be informed on the internal responsibility system and promote its use.
- Weekly, travel with front line supervision to support and evaluate their safety focus on work site along with safety system implementation between supervisor and workers and that interaction.
- Observe employees at work, ensure they have and demonstrate correct and safe methods of work.
- Respond to Questions, queries from supervisors and/or workers regarding safety systems, concerns, policies, and or procedures, through accurate sourcing of response.
- Coordinate and / or conduct training related to health, safety, and prevention.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and year end reports of the overall safety performance of the operations to appropriate personnel.
- Meet safety targets set out by the site.
- He must be computer literate.
- Promote Health & Safety at the site, led by example.
- Maintain complete and accurate files and records in regard to inspections, safety audits, accident investigations.
- Participate in self-training through the Safety Associations and professional organisations.
- Able to understand ISO 45001:2018 OHMS, ISO 31001:2018 RMS and ISO 14001:2015OHMS.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
- Higher diploma or degree in Occupation Health, Environment and safety management or Equivalent.
- Member of ZOHSA with valid certificate.
- Understand contractor HSE management systems.
- Must have advanced supervision certificate.
- Must have a valid blasting License.
- Must have a valid manual driving License.
- 3 years of experience in HSE mining operations
3. TRAINER X 1
Position Description
This position reports to the Project Manager. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.
Position Description
- Managing Kascco Training activities to ensure the needs of the business are met and compliance with the requirements of the various packages are met.
- Develop, administer, monitor and evaluate employees training development programs at Kascco.
- Ensure compliance with company training and development policies and procedures and relevant Zambian Legislation.
- Promote continuous improvement by challenging work practices and encouraging employees’ participation in new concepts.
- Design and develop training /develop programs based on both the organizations and the individual needs.
- Maintaining accuracy and maintenance training records and filling system.
- Assist with development supporting documents in the area of expertis.
- Train to minimize environmental incidents or discharges and implement solutions to improve environmental conversation.
- Ensuring all operating procedures/standards are accurate and fully communicated to and practiced by the team regarding safety.
- Strategizing and implementing plans to achieve client’s targets in consultation with relevant stakeholders in a safe manner.
- Ensure all training objectives are achieved.
- Ensure all training is organized and coordinated effectively.
- Training requirements to achieve maximum production efficiency and equipment utilization.
- Training requirements to exceed industry’s best practices in safety and efficiency.
- Conduct assessments in the required format in line with the best practices.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- G12 Certificate.
- A Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent.
- Knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety rules and regulations as well as legislative training requirements.
- Good experience in mining industry.
- Training or experience in one or more fields or processes related to mining or mineral processing.
- Willingness to work in a diverse environment
