Job Description
The Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) invites sealed tenders for drilling of 4 boreholes by the use of a borehole drilling rig in selected village of Lusangazi district of Eastern Province.
A complete set of tender documents may be obtained by interested candidates from the ZRCS Head Office Lusaka.
Prices quoted should be inclusive of all costs & VAT and shall remain valid for 40 days from the closing date of tender.
Completed tender documents in English are to be sealed in envelopes marked with Tender name, Company name and reference number and deposited at the Zambia Red Cross Society Head Office Lusaka.
Tenders are hereby invited for the tender of drilling of 4 boreholes by the use of a borehole drilling rig (Mud Rotary Drilling) in selected sites in Lusangazi district of Eastern Province
1.1 The works for drilling of 4 boreholes shall include but not limited to;
a. Borehole sitting
b. Drilling
c. Casing
d. Gravel packing
e. Development and Test Pumping per borehole and water quality testing.
1.2 Borehole development
a. Total Depth -120 meters
b. Casing Diameter – 6 Inch (144 mm)
c. Anticipated yield – 0.6 – 1.4 l/s
The successful bid shall be based on the accepted rates and alignment to scope of work as decided by the ZRCS through the committee.
Details regarding the works as well as the way in which it must be done are described in this document.
2. EXAMINATION BY TENDERERS:
2.1 Prior to submitting the tender, each tenderer must do following steps:
(a) Bidders must visit the proposed drilling sites, site condition and check site difficulties and discomforts at the drilling location.
(b) Examine all instructions, eligibility criteria and specifications in the tender document.
(c) Familiarize themselves with all state and local laws, ordinance, rules, regulations and codes affecting the services including the cost of permits and licenses required for the work at the site.
(d) No additional claim, discrepancy etc. shall be entertained after opening of tender.
3 . ISSUING OF DOCUMENTS
3.1 These tender documents contain pages numbered consequently. Tenderers must satisfy themselves that the documents are complete. Should any figures or writing be indistinct, or should any pages be missing from this document, or should this document contain any obvious errors, the Tenderer must immediately notify ZRCS to have any discrepancy rectified as no claim whatsoever, will be accepted for faults in the tender price resulting from the above mentioned discrepancies.

Notes:
a. All prices quoted shall be in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW) and must include Value Added Tax.
b. The Schedule of Rates must be fully priced out.
c. The Contract of Agreement and Guarantee for Execution of the Contract are not to be completed at the time of tender.
d. The tender documents shall not be separated in any way, nor must any pages be detached from the original documents.
5. SUBMISSION OF TENDERS
