Job Description
Our Client based in Chipata Zambia is seeking a Federation Development Lead, to lead and support over 62 primary cooperatives with over 189,000 small-scale farmers. The role focuses on promoting climate-smart agriculture, sustainable land management, and biodiversity conservation while strengthening cooperative leadership, market access, and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop business models and project proposals aligned with conservation goals.
- Facilitate access to grants and funding for cooperative sustainability.
- Organize training sessions, community meetings, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Strengthen cooperative leadership and provide technical training.
- Establish market linkages and value chain strategies for cooperative members.
- Oversee cooperative operations to ensure compliance with Federation policies.
- Monitor financial management, governance, and cooperative performance.
- Support the implementation of Community Conservation Plans.
- Ensure the collection of membership fees for financial sustainability.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven leader with:
- A degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Rural Development, or a related field.
- Experience working with cooperatives, agribusiness, or conservation programs.
- Strong skills in business development, resource mobilization, and market linkages.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and conservation-oriented projects is an advantage.
