EXTERNAL ADVERT

POSITION: HARVESTING CAPITAO (1 POSITION, FIXED TERM) –   SUGARCANE DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Harvesting Capitao. The position reports to the Farm Manager and operates within the Farm Area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervisory works, weekly task planning.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Implements the Harvesting plans programmed as provided by that Farm Supervisor
  • Checks every task to ensure that the cutters do not leave their tasks to go away from their buddies without permission. Makes sure that a siren is blown before and after cane burning.
  • Monitors anemometer and ensure that the threshold wind speed is <14km/hr prior to commencing burning.
  • Ensure that a standard fire break of at least two cane rows is made so that fire will not jump during the burning process.
  • Make sure that the cane is cut at the ground level(<5mm) by fire break team to prevent the stumps from tripping/injuring the cutters and any other people who may pass through them during control of stray fires.
  • Ensures discipline in the section
  • Executives weekly planned activities on harvesting
  • Daily Labour Supervision

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in General Agriculture
  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 credits
  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the job
  • Must be a Zambian Citizen with a Green National Registration Card.
  • Should be 18 years and above.
