EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Save the Children wishes to invite qualified individuals to apply for the following various intern positions.

1.Position: Finance Intern*3
Duty Station: Lusaka Country Office, Mongu and Petauke Field Offices
Duration: 3 Months

Role Purpose:
Country Office has in the recent years been processing payments for the whole Country. So, there is need to remove the old vouchers from the Office and arrange the Container so as to create space. Also, auditors have been querying Country Office as regards stamping vouchers paid. It is in the regards that Finance, Country Office requests the services of an Intern.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Finance Manager

Number of direct reports: None

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Archiving of old documents into Archive space.
2. Selection of old documents that are beyond retention period and ready for disposal.
3. Orderly Filing and labelling of all pending documents.
4. Keep the filing cabinet in order.
5. Stamp the Country Office and Lusaka Program Vouchers ‘PAID’, scan and file on Shared Folder.
6. Scan Copies of payments and file on shared e-folder
7. Neatly arrange the Container for files.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Diploma in finance, ZICA or any related field.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and spoken communication.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must have an eye for detail.

2. Position: HR Intern
Duty Station: Lusaka Country Office
Duration: 3 Months

Role Purpose:
The main objective of the HR intern is to assist the HR department with personnel file management.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: HR Coordinator

Number of direct reports: None

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Maintaining proper records of all human resource documents.
2. Ensuring that new staff files are properly labeled and arranged in order.
3. Ensure that vital information such as Qualifications, NRC/Passports, Job descriptions, policies etc. are on file.
4. Ensuring that contents in personnel files are in order as per the checklist.
5. Scan personnel documents and upload on e-shared folder.
6. Archived files to be properly arranged in order.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management or any related field
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and spoken communication.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must have an eye for detail.

3. Position: Administration Support Intern
Duty Station: Lusaka Country Office
Duration: 3 Months

Role Purpose:
To perform front office and office administration duties.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

1. Manage the Reception desk.
2. Receive parcels, mails and distribute, messages and communicate to appropriate employees.
3. Welcome visitors and escort them to appropriate staff or office.
4. Assist with offloading the Admin/Finance container, sorting and later, dispose all old documents, materials and furniture.
5. Assists with issuing, distribution of office supplies and stationery, and completes bin cards.
6. Assist with filing of the reception documents.
7. Operate and maintain office machines including printers, copiers, and scanners.
8. Ensure that stationery is always available in the printer’s/ printer areas.
9. Ensure offices and tea areas are clean, replenished and organized.
10. Ensure compliance with organization rules and regulations.
11. Assist in making internal meeting room booking.
12. Perform any other duties as needed at the Front office.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant discipline.
  • Ability to act with credibility and diplomacy.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead and anticipate requirements.
  • Ability to maintain strong integrity and confidentiality).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Expert in planning and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude towards visitors and Staff.

The interns must have Commitment to Save the Children values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding policy.
