Lusaka Institute of Applied Sciences (LIAS) University College has over 10 years of experience in training Health professionals at Diploma level and now Degrees. Having stood a test of time University College has up to date, qualified over 3, 000 Registered Nurses and Clinical Officers. The Institution has set itself on a firm expansion course and changing stakeholder environment being experienced across the country, a number of opportunities and challenges have emerged with this phenomenon.
In its quest to meet National and Global Human Resource needs the Institution has embarked on a new strategy to maintain its progress. In view of this, the University College is therefore seeking the services of selfless goal-oriented, qualified and skilled individual to take up the following position on a full-time basis:-
1.0 IT ADMINISTRATOR(01)
JOB PURPOSE: To provide ICT Services and support to members of staff and Students as authorized by Management; which entails installing, upgrading and repairing ICT related equipment and software in the Institution including various practical sites.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Administer Information Technology Services for University College
- Cord-ordination and Administration of Students’ Information platforms and systems
- Inventory and Administration of Institutional ICT Equipment
- Assisting Head of Departments Production of Monthly academic reports
- To ensure that the Institutional ICT systems and equipment is constantly monitored and serviced.
- To archive electronic data
- Build capacity to enhance and achieve the University’s development strategic plan.
- Identify gaps in the software industry, and develop such gaps into solutions.
- Define software development project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
- Supervise and motivate software development members of staff, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Direct and manage software development projects from beginning to end.
- Build, develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the department and the University at large.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations, and project milestones.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is an added advantage
- Minimum seven (5) years working experience in ICT systems or software development.
- Good Communication and report writing skills
- Must be a member of the Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia.
2.0 DRIVER/ MECHANIC (01)
JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use; Be able to repairsvehicles / Buses and servicing as needed; Keep mileage records and repair records s up-to- date.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To repairUniversity College Vehicles / buses
- TransportUniversity College staff to assignments as directed
- Pick up and dropping off post, other packages, purchases or parcels if need arises.
- Maintain the vehicle to the satisfactory standard acceptable to the University College
- Check and carry out routine maintenance to ensure that the vehicles are in good working order for use by the University College staff.
- Work hand in hand with the Registrar ensuring that Company Motor Vehicles are always in good and safe working conditions.
- Carry out motor vehicle repairs as requested.
- Help in recommending good quality spare parts/kits needed for motor vehicle repairs.
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate;
- At least five (5) years relevant work experience of driving heavy duty vehicles/buses
- Must have a valid Class CE/PSV SADC driver’s license.
- Must be in possession of Heavy Duty Motor Vehicle mechanical Certificate
- Good Communication and report writing skills
