Job Description

Position Overview

The Key Account Manager, Public Sector & NGOs will focus on recruiting and managing relationships with key accounts in government institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This role aims to create meaningful partnerships that enhance service delivery through tailored payment solutions. The position reports directly to the Head of Corporate Sales.

Job Responsibilities

Customer Acquisition:

  • Identify and engage with key accounts in government institutions and NGOs.
  • Develop strategies to onboard new clients in the public sector.

Account Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Understand client objectives and deliver solutions that meet their specific needs.

Sector Strategy:

  • Drive business growth with a sector-focused strategy.
  • Align our offerings with the needs of public sector and NGO clients.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay updated on sector developments, including policy changes or funding shifts.
  • Anticipate client needs and propose relevant solutions accordingly.

Account Growth:

  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to drive account growth.

Performance Reporting:

  • Track and report on account performance.
  • Analyze key metrics to inform strategies and improve client satisfaction.

Additional Duties:

  • Any other responsibilities assigned by management.

Accountability and Performance Measures

Revenue Targets:

  • Accountable for achieving revenue targets for the following business lines:
    • Merchant and Online Payments
    • Cash Deposits and Bulk Payments
    • Airtime and Bill Payments

Service Levels:

  • Accountable for maintaining acceptable service levels for the assigned accounts.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record in key account management or sales, with at least 2 years of experience managing accounts in the public sector or NGO environments.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of government and non-profit organizational structures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Additional Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with payment solutions and mobile money services is an advantage.
