We’re Hiring! – Kitchen Supervisor

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Okavango Foods, a leading food manufacturer and catering company, is looking for a Kitchen Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations, maintain high food quality standards, and ensure a well-organized, efficient, and food-safe work environment. This role requires long working hours, and since we operate every day, living near Okavango Foods is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise and coordinate all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow.
– Maintain high food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
– Monitor food production to ensure consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation.
– Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to enhance productivity and teamwork.
– Manage inventory, ensure proper stock levels, and minimize wastage.
– Ensure equipment is maintained and in good working order.
– Oversee meal preparation to meet company and customer expectations.
– Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
– Enforce compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
– Handle customer concerns related to kitchen operations.
– Report to management on kitchen performance and challenges.

Requirements:
– Significant experience in a commercial kitchen (formal qualifications are an advantage but not mandatory).
– At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
– Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
– Experience in inventory management and food cost control.
– Passion for food, quality service delivery, and operational excellence.
– Living near Okavango Foods is a big advantage due to long working hours.
