Job Description
The position shall report to the Human Resources Superintendent.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- To effectively and efficiently conduct classroom and on the job Training on Excavators, Graders, Dozers, Loaders, ADTs and Sino Trucks.
- To effectively and efficiently assess candidates’ performance against agreed standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Full grade twelve (12) certificate; and
- Certificate in Training And Assessing from a recognized Institution
- Must have a Diploma in Teaching Methodology
EXPERIENCE
- Relevant traceable experience of not less than 4 (four) years in the position;
- Must have experience as a multi-skilled driver/ operator in the Mining Industry;
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing drivers/ operators on the available fleet of Sino Trucks, Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Loaders and ADTs ;
- Conduct on the job training on all available fleet of Sino Trucks, Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Loaders and ADTs ;
- Facilitate off the job classroom Power Point presentations – this includes all compliance and generic courses on the available fleet ;
- Conduct theory and practical assessment in accordance with the assessment principles and guidelines ;
- Conduct pre-employment assessment in accordance with the company guidelines – Demonstration of prior Learning (DPL) and Recognition of prior Learning (RPL) ;
- Coach and mentor operators on the job in order to improve machine operational efficiency and also improve equipment optimization ;
- Update training records for trainings done and send the Trainer activity report daily ;
- Report the daily training activities through the Daily Training Log Book ;
- Apply the Training Nomination, Training systems and permit issuance processes in conjunction with the KML Training Team ;
- Assists with development of Training Need Analysis (TNA) and training audits;
- Assist with development of operator learning materials and documentation (Manuals, PowerPoint and assessment tools) ;
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment in the avalaible fleet ;
- Report to management on the progress and challenges of training activities ; and
- Several other functions as advised by the supervisor.

- Physically and mentally demanding job.
- Ready to work out side working hours
- Computer literate in MS Office.
- Holder of a valid First Aid Certificate
- Holder of a clean and valid drivers’ license
- Multi-skilled knowledge on Sino Trucks, excavators, graders, loaders, ADTs shall be an added advantage
