1. SAFETY OFFICER x 2

Position Description
This position reports to the Safety Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring all employees of Kascco are upholding HSE rules and regulations set by Kascco Management and FQM at large.
  • You will be responsible for your own safety and the safety of other workers.
  • You will be responsible for conducting regular HSE inspections at the workshop, offices, and general working areas that Kascco employees and equipment will be working.
  • You will be responsible for conducting and coordinating accident and incident investigations.
  • You will be responsible for the monthly inspection of firefighting equipment, electrical tools, ladders, lifting equipment, and safety lanyards and updating the Inspection logbook.
  • You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections on all machines, light vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment for HSE compliance.
  • You will coordinate all HSE training, seminars, and workshops organized by Kascco Management and FQM.
  • In coordination with all supervisors and heads of sections, you will be responsible for developing Safe Work Procedures, Safe Operating Procedures, and Job Safety and Environmental Analysis for all tasks and projects.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating Toolbox talks daily and Safety meetings once every month with all Kascco employees and recording all issues raised by employees.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
  • A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or other mining-relevant University qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Certification and experience in First Aid are a requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be able to identify hazards, assess risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place, and provide advice about accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.

2. SHIFT BOSS X 4

Position Description
This position reports to the Mine Captain. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support an effective Health and Safety Management System, including completion of risk assessments, hazard identification, tool box talks, and completion of JSA where appropriate.
  • Inspection of work areas to ensure that the required safety and operational standards for the site are met and take appropriate action when required.
  • Ensure that every start of shift, the pre-start checklist of the equipment/Vehicle is done and any defects are reported to the Maintenance Support Team and are repaired before use.
  • Ensure that the personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for the operations is utilized and put on correctly and in the right places at all times.
  • Ensuring that speed limits and road signs in place are observed to reduce the risk, and that all reasonable measures are implemented to avoid accidents.
  • Ensuring that FLRA and PTO’s are done in your area of operations.
  • Ensuring that near misses, hazards, accidents, and unsafe acts and conditions are brought to the attention of a supervisor in charge of the area.
  • Ensuring that you are in attendance at incident investigations and that required closers are done without any delays.
  • Downtime/Wastage – To ensure that the highest level of quality work is consistently maintained in all works conducted by Kascco Ltd with effective labor and machinery utilization.

3. GRADER OPERATORS X 2

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assess your work areas and identify all hazards and fix them if they fall within your knowledge and ability, otherwise report them to your supervisor for correction and action.
  • Ensure that all company safety, health, and environmental procedures along with any specific client requirements are implemented and adhered to.
  • Ensure that all applicable legislative requirements are implemented and complied with.
  • Ensure that the personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for the operations is utilized and put on correctly and in the right places at all times.
  • Ensuring that speed limits and road signs in place are observed to reduce the risk, and that all reasonable measures are implemented to avoid accidents.
  • Operate the grader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Precisely operate the grader blade to windrow gravel to the center of the road.
  • Operate grader controls to regulate height and angle of the grader blade and lower scarifies to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
  • Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
  • Drive the grader in successive passes over the working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of other workers, to level the surface to the specified grade.
  • Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine the depth of the cut.
  • Operate the grader on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
  • Finish grade base surface preparation to within half an inch.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
  • Ensure the grader is in proper gear and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the grader.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and other construction-related duties as required.
  • Carry out any activities as assigned by the Supervisor.

4. DOZER OPERATORS X 11

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

5. WATER CART OPERATORS X 9

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Conduct pre-start checks of the machine before commencing work.
  • Ensure the equipment is kept clean in all its interior and exterior components.
  • Ensure the machine is refueled in each shift.
  • Dust suppression in the haul roads.
  • Work under the supervision of shift supervisors to maintain site safety standards.
  • Report all defects on the machine to the maintenance and mine dispatch section.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Grade 12 or 9 certificate.
  • Experienced in Water Cart Bowser and other service works.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in water cart and related works.

6. FUEL BOWSER OPERATORS X 5

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Maintain the fuel storage and dispensing equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation of a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Receive all bulk delivered product.
  • Daily dips on all storage tanks.
  • Meter readings at all the meters daily.
  • Dispensing of diesel and recording of all transactions.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Grade 12 and relevant qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • A relevant driver’s license.

7. ROCK BREAKERS X 2

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Operate rock-breaker.
  • Perform pre-op and post-op inspections on equipment.
  • Ensure all daily checklists and reports are completed accurately.
  • Responsible for housekeeping surrounding the work area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong safety focus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 2 years’ experience in rock breaking.
  • Preferred candidate will be proficient and familiar with open operations.

8. DRIVERS X 3

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.
  • Proven work experience as a Truck Driver.
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong safety focus.
  • Trucking school diploma.
  • Valid truck driving license.

9. DRILLERS X 3

Position Description
This position reports to the PIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Personally responsible for own safety and conducting oneself to the standards of Policies and Procedures.
  • Promote and implement the Nabors safety program.
  • Apply safety policies and practices in rig operations and act as a role model to other crew members in all safety matters.
  • Conduct and record Toolbox Talks for the rig crew and achieve the participation and contribution of crew members.
  • Play a full part in rig safety meetings.
  • Conduct safety inspections of rig equipment and hold training drills as directed by the Rig Supervisor.
  • Contribute to new employee safety inductions.
  • Ensure that all activities, including those of third-party contractors, are conducted using safe working practices and using the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Operate rig equipment within its designed parameters to optimize the drilling process and associated activities.
  • Conduct visual, and where possible, functional inspections of equipment both prior to use and at periodic intervals.
  • Supervise the Assistant Driller in the control and recording of mud properties.
  • Keep accurate records, including:
    • Worksheet records of the drill string, including details of equipment run in-hole.
    • Completed tour sheets.
    • Records of Toolbox Safety Talks.
    • Ensuring that the rig crew conducts and records their assigned tasks in the rig Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
    • Incident, Injury, Illness, or Near Miss records involving rig crew members.
    • Records and charts of pressure tests and function tests.
  • Provide recommendations to the Rig Manager for improved procedures.
  • Report any unforeseen or unusual events to the Rig Supervisor or Operator’s representative as appropriate.

10. PROCUREMENT OFFICER X 1

Job Summary
Kascco is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer with a strong understanding of mining industry procurement needs and challenges. Based in Kalumbila, Zambia, the Procurement Officer will oversee sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management for our mining projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of equipment, spare parts, and services. The ideal candidate will bring mining industry experience, enabling efficient procurement aligned with operational goals and the demands of a challenging, fast-paced mining environment.

Position Description
This position reports to the System Development & Optimization Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Mining-Specific Procurement:
    • Source and procure heavy machinery, equipment, and essential spare parts specific to mining operations, including crushing, drilling, hauling, and earthmoving equipment.
    • Engage with suppliers of industry-specific consumables such as lubricants, drill bits, safety gear, and explosives.
  2. Supplier Management & Evaluation:
    • Identify and establish relationships with suppliers experienced in supporting mining operations, ensuring they meet our quality, safety, and delivery standards.

Position Description

This position reports to the System Development & Optimization Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Position Description

This position reports to the Dispatcher Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
