JOB ADVERTISEMENT
Tawansangthong Mining Limited is a company that specializes in organic Tin mining that ensures productive use of land after mining operations have ended. We are currently looking for qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions to be based at our Choma Mine site:
I. Mine Manager x 1
II. Material Handling Controller x 1
III. Mechanic Engineer x 1
1. MINE MANAGER
Responsible to effectively lead and manage the Mining exploration through planning, overseeing and coordinating all mining exploration related activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Mine design, Planning and development and scheduling of Mining progression.
- Conduct forecasting and budgeting.
- To ensure timely preparations of quarterly Labour returns and mineral returns.
- Enforce compliance with mining regulation and statutory requirements.
- To prepare future reports for mining operations.
- Monitor plans and reviews against targets and performance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance systems and productivity.
- Supervisor and mentor other Mine personnel’s.
- Maintain a positive and safe work environment at all times. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
- Mentor junior employees and provide training on mine planning and operational best practice.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
- Holder of current Zambian Blasting License and valid First Aid Certificate
- Minimum of Five (5) Years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage
2. MATERIAL HANDLING CONTROLLER X 1
Responsible for managing the flow of materials within the warehouse including receiving, inspecting, storing and distributing inventory while ensuring accurate records are kept, quality standards are met, and material are available as needed for production or delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders for quality and quantity and processing receiving documents and updating inventory systems.
- Conducting quality checks, and organising inventory.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts.
- Coordinating material deliveries to production lines or other departments.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Resolving any discrepancy with purchase orders or deliveries.
- Work closely with purchase department, production and workshop teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Diploma or Degree in logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Member of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT).
- Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of warehouse management system (WMS)
- Proficiency in inventory management techniques.
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Proficiency with inventory management systems.
- Basic understanding of quality control procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with different departments
- Diploma/Degree in industrial Engineering will be an added advantage
3. MECHANIC ENGINEER * 1
Responsibility for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components, including machines, tools, engines, and thermal systems and troubleshooting equipment failures to ensure optional performance and safety standards are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed designs for mechanical components and systems.
- Analyse mechanical systems to evaluate performance stress and feasibility
- Develop and build prototypes of designed components to test functionality and identify potential issues.
- Conduct testing procedures to gather data on performance, reliability and safety.
- Investigate and diagnose mechanical failures in existing systems.
- Develop maintenance plans and procedures to optimize equipment lifespan.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications and report to document designs.
- Providing technical advice
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Degree in mechanical engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles {Thermodynamics mechanics, fluid dynamics}
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia [EIZ}
