Job Description

MULTIPLE POSITIONS

Goldenlay Agri Ltd is the largest producer, supplier, and distributor of table eggs across Zambia, and boasting a brand familiar to retailers and consumers alike. Goldenlay is hereby inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates to fill the multiple positions below:-

1. COOK

We are looking for a dedicated cook to prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations and company standards. The cook’s responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of meals, organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and assembling ingredients for menus for staff
  • Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company standard.
  • Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.
  • Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
  •  Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
  • Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before and after each use.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
  •  Assisting other cooks to ensure that food is cooked and served on time, in accordance with the company work schedule.
  • Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Adhere to Bio Security rules and wear prescribed PPE.
    Requirements:
  • Certificate in Hotel and Catering
  • Serve Safe food handling certification is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques.
  • Proven experience working as a Cook.
  • The ability to follow recipes.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Effective communication skills.

2. GENERAL FACILITY CLEANER

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition, including stocking toilet paper, paper towels or other needed supplies in the restrooms.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories and toilet bowls
  • Cleans mirrors, sinks, and other bathroom Fixtures.
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs Floors with appropriate cleaner for Floor type.
  • Dusts all ledges and woodwork.
  • Reports any issues with facility conditions, water leaks, broken equipment, clogged drains, etc. to management immediately.
  • Empties wastebaskets and trash receptacles/recycling as needed
  • Operates vacuum cleaners, mops, and other light cleaning equipment as needed; keeps such equipment in good useable condition.
  • Washes walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached without tall ladders and scaffolding.
  • Notifies supervisor when additional material is needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.
  • Maintains stock of cleaning materials and implements required to perform assigned duties.
  • Do laundry for staff working under restricted Bio Security areas.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Hotel and Catering /Housekeeping
  • Serve Safe food handling certification is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques.
  •  Proven experience working as a Cook.
  • The ability to follow recipes.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Effective communication skills.

3. SECUIRTY GUARDS X 4

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry
  • Respond to alarms and security incidents, investigate disturbances, and provide assistance in resolving emergencies
  • Report any suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate authorities
  •  Maintain a professional demeanour and provide excellent customer service to employees, clients, and visitor
  •  Adherence of Bio Security procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position
  • Must be between the age of 25 – 35 years’ old.
  • Additional training/certification in security or law enforcement is a plus
  • Excellent observational and communication skills
  • Minimum of Grade 12 certificate
  • Physically Fit
  •  No Criminal record

4. GARDNERER

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, schedules, and participates in the gardening work as assigned including but not limited to soil preparation, planting, pruning, trimming, staking, cultivating, weeding, transplanting, of trees, lawn turf, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, hedges and other vegetations.
  • Mixes topsoil and natural fertilizer applying to grass and flowerbeds as needed.
  • Performs other gardening work as required.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate, with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Positive attitude towards work
  • Ability to work independently
