JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Council of Mulungushi University is an equal opportunity employer and is inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following positions at both Main Campus in Kabwe/Kapiri-Mposhi and the Livingstone Campus where the School of Medicine and Health Sciences is domiciled.

1.0 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES

(a)   Lecturer of Human Anatomy (1 position)

Job purpose:-   

To teach, assess performance, conduct research, publish and undertake academic-related responsibilities and to carry out community service.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a full Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (5) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have any of the following qualifications from a reputable and accredited University: an earned Bachelor of Science degree in Human Anatomy, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Sciences or a related health science discipline

iii. Must have an earned Masters of Science in Human Anatomy from a reputable and accredited University

iv. Must have functional computer literacy skills

v. Must have a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at University level will be added advantage

vi. Proof of research and publications will be also an added advantage.

vii. A PhD in Human Anatomy will equally be an added advantage;

viii. Must have a valid practicing license from the relevant regulatory authority

(b)  Lecturer of Parasitology (1 position)

To teach, assess student performance, conduct research, publish and undertake academic-related responsibilities and to carry out community service.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a full Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (5) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have an earned Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from a reputable and accredited University

iii. Must have an earned Master of Science degree in Medical Parasitology, or Master of Science (Infectious Diseases and Zoonosis) from a reputable and accredited University

iv. Must have functional computer literacy skills

v. Possession of a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at University level will be added advantage

vi. Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage

vii. A PhD in Parasitology  will equally be an added advantage

viii. Must have a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)

2.0  RESEARCH AND INNOVATION DEPARTMENT

(a) Research, Consultancy, and Partnerships Officer

Job purpose:

The Research, Consultancy, and Partnerships Officer will support the development and implementation of research initiatives, consultancy services, and strategic partnerships at Mulungushi University. The role aims to enhance the University’s research profile, strengthen industry and academic collaborations, and generate revenue through consultancy services.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University with at least a Credit: Research Management, Business Administration,  or Entrepreneurship

iii. Must have a Master’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University: Research Management, Business Administration, or Entrepreneurship

iv. Possession of a PhD in any of the following: Research Management, Business Administration, or Entrepreneurship is an added advantage

v. Must have proven experience in research administration, consultancy, or partnership development in an academic or professional setting

vi. Must have functional computer literacy skills

vii. Must have strong proposal writing and project management skills

viii. Familiarity with funding agencies, grant application processes, and consultancy frameworks

ix. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders

(b)  Research Ethics Officer (1 position)

Job purpose:

The Research Ethics Officer ensures that all research activities conducted at Mulungushi University adhere to ethical standards, legal requirements, and institutional policies. The role involves overseeing ethical reviews, promoting compliance, and providing guidance to researchers on best practices in research ethics.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University with at least a Credit: Law, Philosophies and Ethics, Ethics and Human Research Protection, Policy Analysis, Research Administration, Business Administration, or Entrepreneurship

iii. Must have a Master’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University : Research Administration, Law, Ethics and Human Research Protection, or Policy Analysis

iv. Possession of a PhD or specialized training in research ethics is an added advantage

v. Must have at least two (2) years of experience in research ethics administration, preferably in an academic or research institution

vi. Must have in-depth knowledge of national and international research ethics regulations and guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other requirements pertinent to the profession

vii. Must have functional computer literacy skills

viii. Must have strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

ix. Must have proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

(c)   Innovations and Commercialisation Officer (1 position)

Job purpose:

The Innovations and Commercialisation Officer will support the advancement of innovative initiatives and oversee effective communication strategies with view to enhancing the visibility and impact of Mulungushi University’s research and innovation activities. This role bridges the gap between research outcomes, innovation ecosystems, and stakeholders through effective communication and innovation-driven strategies.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have a Bachelor degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University with at least a Credit: Innovation and Technology Management, Entrepreneurship and Marketing, Business Development and Innovation, Mass Communications, Public Relations, or Entrepreneurship

iii. Must have a Master’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University : Technology Commercialisation, Technology and Innovation, Public Policy Analysis, Research Commercialisation, Intellectual Property Management, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Innovation Management,

iv. Must have at least two (2) years of experience in innovation management, communication, or a related role.

v. Must have knowledge of intellectual property management, technology transfer, and commercialization processes

vi. Must have functional computer literacy

vii. Must have strong skills in content creation, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement

viii. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management abilities

3.0 REGISTRAR’S DEPARTMENT

(a) Assistant Registrar (1 position)

Job purpose: 

To contribute towards the human resource function in the University such as recruitment and placement, report and minute writing, performance management, employment contract management, interpretation of conditions of service and labour laws.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics

ii. Must have an earned Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resource Management or Public Administration from a reputable and accredited University with at least a Credit

iii. Possession of a  Master’s degree in either Human Resource Management or Public Administration from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage

iv. Must have a minimum of two (2) years post qualifying experience

v. Must have functional computer literacy skills

vi. Must have wide experience in Performance Management and employment contract Management

vii. Must be conversant with the Zambian labour laws

ix. Must be good interpersonal and managerial skills

x. Must be a fully paid up member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid practicing license

(b)  Marketing Officer

Job purpose:

The Marketing Officer will be required to develop and execute marketing strategies in order to enhance the University’s visibility and by so doing, attract prospective students and promote academic programmes and services. The job holder will also be expected to manage digital and traditional marketing campaigns, coordinate events and maintain stakeholder relationships with view to strengthen the University’s brand and reputation.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing

ii. A Master’s degree in Marketing  will be an added advantage

iii. Must have functional computer literacy skills

iv. Must have demonstrated experience in public relations

v. Must have proven experience in marketing, preferably in the education sector

vi. Must have strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and branding strategies

vii. Must have excellent communication, creativity, and organisational skills

viii. Must have ability to work independently and as part of a team

4.0 DEAN OF STUDENTS’ DEPARTMENT

Female Student Counsellor (1 position for the Livingstone Campus)

Job purpose: 

To provide to students counselling services on a wide range of issues relating to psycho-social, academic, vocational, job placement, reproductive health and safer sex practices.

To also organize counselling clinics with view to sensitize students experiencing various academic, career and health related concerns.

Qualifications and experience required:

i. Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (50 Credits which must include English Language

ii. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University: Psychology, Social Work, or Guidance and Counselling

iii. Possession of a Master’s degree in any of the following from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage: Psychology, Social Work or Guidance and Counselling

iv. Must have at least three (3) years practical experience in counselling and guidance

v. Must have functional computer literacy skills

vi. Must have strong leadership skills in dealing with students
