Position Title: Process Controller

Role Overview
- Monitor various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure precision and adherence to standards in the concentrate production process.
- Provide relevant information and direction to Plant Operators and Attendants in the production line based on monitored operations in liaison with the Shift Coordinators.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing company’s approved production plan.
- Monitor and control all sections of the plant process lines to ensure stable equipment operation, employee safety and compliance with prescribed standards and environmental regulations.
- Log in process data at specified intervals; document and report operational activities accordingly.
- Ensure smooth operation of the parameters by providing constant feedback and relevant guidance to Shift Coordinators, Engineers, Plant Attendants and Operators in the execution of field work.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot potential operating problems, either in consultation with Shift Coordinators, Engineers and the Section Head or independently when immediate action is necessary to ensure production resumes.
- Continuously review the plant automation system and make recommendations for improvement based on leading practices.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Shift Coordinator.
- Assist and provide cover to the Shift coordinator.
Education:
- Grade 12 Full Certificate
Qualification and Membership:
- Minimum of diploma in Metallurgy and Mineral Processing Engineering or its equivalent.
- Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as Shift Coordinator or Control Room Operator in the Concentrator Plant.
Position Title: Shift Coordinator
Department: Production

Role Overview
- Manage and supervise the effective execution of all production activities during respective shift to ensure seamless and efficient operations within the Production department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the execution of SZKL production plan and ensure all production equipment are operated in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitor control process units at every point in time and ensure raw materials for production are properly crushed to achieve preset quality targets.
- Coordinate all production staff during respective shift to ensure uninterrupted activities at the plant.
- Supervise casual staff to ensure all conveyor belts in the unit are clean and free from jamming and ensure that machine operators wear appropriate safety gears during operations.
- Ensure that production targets are achieved during respective shift.
- Prepare detailed shift reports for the attention of the Production Superintendent and Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Superintendent.
Education:
- Grade 12 Full Certificate
Qualification and Membership:
- Minimum of diploma in Metallurgy and Mineral Processing Engineering or its equivalent.
- Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as Shift Coordinator in the Concentrator Plant.

Position Title: Electrician
Department: Maintenance
Available positions: 3
Location: Ndola
Role Overview
- To carry out installations, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of all electrical equipment associated with SZKL in order to assure maximum availability, reliability and uptime of the equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives pre-shift instructions and daily work schedules from the supervisor in form of works orders and defects dockets in order to carry out works on the equipment and make it available for 95%.
- Installs electrical equipment in compliance with standard code of electrical practices.
- Carries out inspections, servicing and repairs of overhead industrial VSD driven cranes, high and low voltage switch gears, liquid starter WRIM motors, SCIM motors and all other electrical equipment such as pumps, conveyor belts and elevators. (Note that Knowledge in PLCs and Supervisory control is required)
- Interprets both solid state and schematic electrical drawings and determines materials to be used on all electrical works.
- Examines breakdowns and determines faults and best methods of repairing it by using electrical diagrams and relevant operating manuals.
- Gives reports on progress of assigned jobs to the supervisor and report same in the log book for communication and reference purposes.
- Complies with all safety rules, procedures and keep the working areas clean after the task.
Education:
- Grade 12 Full Certificate
Qualification and Membership:
- Craft / Advanced Technician Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Work Experience:
- At least two-years industrial experience
