Job Description

KALEYA SMALLHOLDERS COMPANY LIMITED is an organisation based in Mazabuka producing sugar cane from a nucleus Estate and Smallholders settlement, invites applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the following position;

(1) PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT

The Payroll Accountant reports to the Finance and ICT Manager. The successful candidate should be able to provide Management with payroll information in order to facilitate decision making in financial planning and control.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepares wages and salaries.
  • Prepares schedules for payroll liabilities.
  • Reconciles payroll accounts.
  • Computes leave pay.
  • Determines the wage or salary for one intending to get an advance.
  • Works on PAYE, WHT and all related taxes to ensure compliance.
  • Follow up tenants on all leases to ensure timely collection of rent.
  • Works on NAPSA schedules and ensures timely preparation and submissions of returns.
  • Advices management on payroll projections and HR related implications.
  • Maintains good rapport with fellow workers and outsiders.
  • Patiently and politely attends to queries or inquiry.
  • Budget preparation input.
  • Audit schedules preparation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in accountancy and/or ACCA/CIMA Level 2
  • Member of ZICA.
  • Sound knowledge in Dove Payroll and Pastel Accounting Software Solutions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • A strong relationship builder.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft office.
  • 3 years working experience in a similar role preferably in an agricultural industry is an added advantage.
