Job Description
Our client, a Global Agricultural company, is seeking a Physiology Seed Technician to join their team. The Physiology Seed Technician will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, execution and reporting of seed quality tests. They will play a key role in sample preparation, laboratory maintenance and supporting seed analysis in evaluating seed physiology characteristics. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to protocols to ensure accurate testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and labelling of seed samples for testing.
- Assist receive samples and record them in the service request form log sheet.
- Perform basic seed testing tasks such as counting, sorting, and weighing seed samples.
- Conduct routine laboratory tasks, including cleaning and calibration of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of tests performed, samples handled, and results obtained.
- Assist in data entry and documentation of test results into lab management software.
- Prepare samples for fumigation.
- Use the QMS for the laboratory and follow instruction for test analysis.
- Assist with managing maintenance and functionality of equipment.
- Conform to good laboratory practice principles and other prescribed quality systems and relevant regulations.
- Participate in global projects and innovation alignment.
- Responsible for keeping inventory of consumables necessary to perform tests.
- Participate in one PSS – (One production system).
- Comply with HSE efforts according to ISO 45001 and the organization’s safety standards focusing on legal compliance and identifying safety risk applying the HRA methodology.
- Participate in compiling risk assessments and job safety analysis and complies to ESH standards.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation, and the organization’s safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to requirements of legal appointments.
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate, diploma or equivalent in Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- Strong relationships and networking skills.
- Organization and Planning Skills.
- Should be Reliable and disciplined
