Job Description

MEF is looking for a Registrar drive the administrative function of Mindolo Ecumenical University College (MEUCO) which will commence its operations this year soon after its clearance by the Higher Education Authority of Zambia.

MEF from which MEUCO stems from boasts of being one of the oldest Non-Profit Making Christian Organisation in Zambia having been established in 1959 as Pan African Centre of Study for leaders in Africa and beyond.

Therefore, MEUCO brings a great strength of experience and commitment to academic excellence and also ensuring a curricular leadership, a holistic approach to learning and promoting community service.

Reports to: Principal

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Administrative Principal officer for MEUCO
  • Responsible for the custody and interpretation of Senate policies and regulations
  • Secretary to the Senate and its Committees except for the committee on Finance and Audit
  • Responsible for the recruitment process of the academic and other staff and for the custody of policies on such recruitment and retention in collaboration with the Finance and Administration Manager – MEF
  • Responsible for the custody and interpretation of the University College’s staff conditions of service in collaborations with the Finance and Administration Manager-MEF
  • Responsible for the publication of general academic rules and regulations to students
  • Ensuring that the College adheres to all risk and regulatory compliance requirements in Zambia
  • Responsible for the custody of the Senate seals.
  • Responsible for receiving all appeals against examinations results and referring these to relevant faculties for investigations
  • Responsible for ensuring of signing of all certificates in conjunction with the Chairperson of the Senate
  • Any other functions as directed from time to time by the Principal or the Executive Director -MEF

Qualification and Experience

  • Full Form 5/Grade 12 School Certificate/GCE Certificate or Equivalent
  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Law or any relevant Social Sciences
  • More than 5 years administrative experience at an Institution of Higher Learning
  • Affiliation to a relevant body in Zambia

AGE: 35 years and above

Proposed Commencement date: 1st September 2024.
Background: Strong Christian background and able to work in an Ecumenical Environment.
