About Us
Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia Limited (NCZ) is a leading fertilizer manufacturing company in Zambia based in Kafue District, Lusaka Province. NCZ is wholly owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Officer to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing legal advice, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Opinions and Advice
Provide comprehensive, clear, and actionable legal advice to decision-makers to guide organizational actions.
2. Contracts and Agreements
Draft legally sound and accurate agreements that mitigate risks and align with the organization’s objectives.
3. Litigation Management
Efficiently manage legal cases with accurate documentation, resulting in favorable outcomes.
4. Compliance Reports
Detailed assessments of the organization’s adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
5. Internal Policies
Develop clear and concise policies to enhance legal and regulatory compliance within the organization.
6. Risk Mitigation Strategies
Identify and Implement Proactive measures to minimize legal and regulatory risks.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels.
- Degree in Law from a recognized University.
- Advocate in the High Court and Supreme Courts for more than five (5) years.
- Certification of educational qualifications with the Zambia Qualification Authority (ZAQA) is a must.
- Work experience with a similar organisation will be an added advantage.
- Member of LAZ with a Valid Practicing Certificate.
