Position: Senior Sous Chef

Location: Samfya, Luapula Province
Bangweulu Beachfront Village is seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Sous Chef with expertise in assorted pastries, gourmet cuisine, and traditional Zambian dishes. We are looking for someone who is adaptive, creative, and committed to upholding our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and present a variety of dishes, including assorted pastries, gourmet meals, and traditional Zambian cuisine.
– Strictly follow SOPs across all kitchen operations.
– Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
– Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistent quality and service.
– Innovate and develop menu items, aligning with our Beachfront Village culinary standards.
– Lead, train, and coordinate a team of 4-5 assistant chefs across different kitchen sections.
Qualifications and Experience
I. Proven experience as a chef in a busy environment, with at least 3-5 years in a similar role.
II. Strong knowledge of pastries, gourmet dishes, and Indian/Chinese and traditional Zambian cooking techniques.
III. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
IV. In-depth knowledge of food costing and portion control.
V. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
VI. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
