Job Description
Purpose of the role
- The role is responsible for repairing, installing, replacing, and servicing different client systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and configure alarm systems, CCTV, biometric access control, automated gates, and electric fences according to client specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on alarm systems, CCTV, biometric access control, automated gates, and electric fences.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning alarm equipment and wiring.
- Integrate alarm systems with other security solutions such as CCTV and access control systems.
- Ensure optimal security by positioning cameras correctly and ensuring system coverage.
- Maintain and upgrade CCTV systems, including performing software updates.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to video feed quality or system malfunctions.
- Train clients on how to access and use CCTV footage remotely.
- Repair and replace defective components, including motors, sensors, and gate tracks.
- Regularly inspect and maintain electric fence systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Diagnose and fix issues with electric fences, including power supply problems.
- Conduct site assessments and provide recommendations on suitable security systems, reporting to the technical manager.
- Keep detailed records of all installations, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies as assigned by the supervisor.
- Deliver excellent customer service and provide first-level support while communicating effectively with clients.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 certificate
- Diploma in IT/Related field
- Prior exposure to Electronics will be an added advantage
- At least years’ experience
