Job Description
Our client, a Global Healthcare and Crop Science Innovation company is looking to hire a skilled and dedicated Tractor / Planter Operator to join their agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating tractors and planters efficiently, ensuring that all planting activities are completed safely and in a timely manner. This role plays a crucial part in supporting crop production and maintaining agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractors and planters for various agricultural tasks, including planting, cultivation, and land preparation.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on tractors and planting equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while operating machinery.
- Monitor crop development and make necessary adjustments to the planting process as needed.
- Collaborate with farm management to plan and execute planting schedules effectively.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
- Keep accurate records of planting activities and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with other agricultural tasks as required during peak seasons.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Certification in Agriculture, Mechanization, or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience operating tractors and planters in agricultural settings.
- Strong understanding of agricultural processes and planting techniques.
- Familiarity with basic mechanics and maintenance of farming equipment.
- Ability to work long hours, including early mornings and weekends during planting seasons.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid Class C driver’s license is an advantage.
