Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Loading and Offloading Specialist to manage the efficient handling, inspection, and movement of goods within our logistics and warehousing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in goods receiving and dispatching, ensuring accuracy in quantity verification and maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires strong coordination with warehouse specialists, drivers, and loaders to streamline operations and minimise discrepancies.

Job Responsibilities of Loading and Offloading Specialist

1. Goods Receiving, Unloading, and Quantity Verification:

  • Unload container goods and transport them to designated warehouse areas.
  • Conduct thorough quantity inspections for various goods, including fragile kitchen items (ceramic cups, bowls, and dishes), steel products (plates, agricultural tools), electronic appliances (light bulbs, speakers), small hardware (iron wires), and fast-moving consumer goods (diapers, sanitary napkins, wet wipes, toothpaste).
  • Compare actual received quantities with system records and report any inconsistencies by capturing watermarked photos and submitting feedback through the OA system.

2. Goods Quality Inspection and Storage Planning:

  • Ensure all items meet quality standards, including rust-free hardware, steel plates with correct dimensions, and intact fragile goods.
  • Plan and organise storage locations based on product characteristics to optimise warehouse space and improve shipping efficiency.
  • Maintain warehouse order and adhere to 6S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain, Safety) to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.

3. Coordination with Warehouse Specialists and Drivers:

  • Work closely with warehouse teams to track shipments and verify that shipping quantities align with order requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of both outer packaging and internal goods to minimise return rates and prevent shipping errors (over-shipment, under-shipment, wrong shipments).
  • Communicate loading and unloading plans with drivers in advance, ensuring smooth logistics flow and preventing congestion.
  • Supervise loaders, ensuring all goods undergo quality checks before loading and reporting any abnormalities immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, goods receiving, and dispatching.
  • Experience handling fragile items, hardware, electronic appliances, and fast-moving consumer goods is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiar with OA system operations for issue reporting and inventory tracking.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to quickly and accurately verify quantities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring goods meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills to collaborate with warehouse teams, drivers, and loaders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and unexpected issues efficiently.

Other Requirements:

  • Physically fit and capable of handling high-intensity labour and irregular overtime, especially during peak seasons.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, willingness to take initiative, and a team-oriented mindset.
