Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the workshop’s inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Source and order spare parts, consumables, and tools required for repairs and maintenance.
- Receive deliveries, inspect items for quality, and verify quantities against advice notes.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, including issuing materials to mechanics.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Work closely with mechanics, technicians, and other workshop staff to meet repair needs promptly.
- Verify that all parts meet quality standards before being used in repairs.
- Precise record-keeping and inventory control.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in mechanics/certification and any business-related course will be an added advantage
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Mercedes Benz-Atego, Scania, Faw and Volvo truck models.
- Understanding of spare parts and consumables used in truck maintenance.
- Ability to manage inventory efficiently.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an automotive or trucking workshop.
- Effective communication with workshop staff and suppliers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth workshop operations.
- Ability to find solutions when faced with stock shortages or urgent repair needs.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
