Job Description

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the freight forwarding team.
Plan and oversee the movement of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Monitor and manage daily operations, including booking shipments, preparing documentation, and tracking cargo.
Ensure compliance with international and domestic shipping regulations and customs procedures.
Utilize the company’s software, Logistics, to streamline operations and maintain accurate records.

Team Leadership:

Lead, train, and motivate the freight forwarding team to achieve operational goals.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Customer Service:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Provide accurate and timely information on shipment status and other logistics-related queries.

Vendor and Carrier Management:

Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, agents, and other logistics partners.
Negotiate rates and contracts with service providers.
Evaluate and select the most efficient and cost-effective transportation options.

Documentation and Compliance:

Ensure all shipping documents are accurately prepared and filed.
Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
Monitor industry trends and incorporate relevant advancements into operational strategies.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Purchasing &Supply and Transport& Logistics
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a logistics or transportation industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
