Recent programming areas include: nutrition, agriculture, food security, HIV/AIDS, WASH, financial inclusion, and early child development.

CRS recognizes the role that the Youth play in building the economies of developing countries such as Zambia. It is against this background that the Zambia Country program launches a revolving six monthly internship program that targets bright and talented youth that have the zeal to learn and contribute to the development of Zambia by working alongside highly skilled project teams to fulfil the mission of the agency.

Job Summary

You will learn the day-to-day delivery of responsive, effective, and efficient project administrative and logistic activities in support of the Zambia CP mission to serve the poor and vulnerable, both at the country program and in the field. You will contribute to the proper stewardship of project resources to help ensure operational effectiveness in support of high-quality programming.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication with all members of the project team, relevant staff in other departments/teams and external stakeholders as relevant.
  • Learn how to provide specialized project administrative transactions and processes (e.g. translate, type, proofread, and/or format documents; record and transcribe meeting minutes; draft simple correspondence messages).
  • Prepare transactional documents in support of project operations processes and support and facilitate coordination of transaction processing (e.g. payment requests, travel authorizations, travel advances.
  • S/he will support the development of action plans for partner capacity.
  • Follow up on capacity building plans for identified partner gaps.
  • Collaboration with specific team members in the execution of duties.
  • S/he will oversee all distributions of project materials to partners.
  •  Support implementation of property management processes, such as property receipt and distribution, property labeling, physical counts, etc.
  • Assist with data analytics for different project data sets in line with CRS Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Best Practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a reputable University is required.
    Experience working in an office environment in a clerical, logistic or administrative role.
  • Experience with typing/word processing, data entry into online databases and forms, and working with various office equipment.
  • Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and information management systems. Proficient in Word.

Required Languages – English

Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 30 %. Less or more.

  • Good time management skills with ability to work on multiple tasks.
  • Strong customer service orientation with good communication and interpersonal skills.
